NYACOL cesium tungsten oxide is a versatile material wherever infrared light needs to be absorbed. The basic function of the absorber is to convert the absorbed infrared light into heat, which is dissipated into the surrounding matrix. We are currently offering four products – CTO, CTO-EG, CTO-W and DP9810. The IR absorption starts in the mid 700 nm range, which is much lower than ITO or ATO. Applications include IR blocking films, light diffusing panels, automotive windows and films, and NIR absorbing fibers and plates.
Dispersions:
NYACOL CTO-EG is an unique dispersion of doped tungsten oxide in ethylene glycol and is non-settling. NYACOL CTO-W is intended for use in coatings requiring high transparency and low haze, and as an additive to systems requiring improved IR absorption. Both products are a dark blue liquid.
Powders:
NYACOL CTO can be supplied as an untreated powder, a surface modified powder or colloidal dispersion. NYACOL DP9810 is a transparent IR absorber which enables high transmittance in the visible range with IR blocking that starts around 800 nm and absorbs in the higher ranges as well. Both are a dark blue powder.

NYACOL DP9810 is a dark blue powder comprised of aggregates of spherical primary particles of modified tungsten oxide. The product is a transparent IR absorber which enables high transmittance in the visible range with IR blocking that starts around 800 nm and absorbs in the higher ranges as well.
